Heart etc saved. Also wing, leg, ovary & bill, cloaca, saved a section of the proventriculus with some dark blobs in it, also found an enlarged shell gland(?), saved it in Bouins. Nematodes in the usual gizzard position, saved them in hot alcohol, also the ulcer covering on Bouins. This bird was in good physical shape. Its breast (was) full and it had a fair amount of fat scattered about its body. Its intestines were clean looking, they were not examined for parasites. Bursa 26 mm, narrow(moderately so). May.19. Gray Lodge Refuge,800 ft., Butte Co. Calif.- 1 bird caught in a trap yesterday at the S side of the refuge, tagged today G/R for release at Woodland. This bird is a ? probably. Lots of birds on the refuge, a few pairs and on territory, others in flocks grazing. This bird probably was one of a pair.
