Now the 1st bird is moving to F and the other came across to meet him(). Now both are diving for and eating what looks like rotten cat- tail material, but it may be Potamogeton. Something, perhaps coots, has been feeding heavily upon the "Indian tobacco" along the shore at A 10. 3:25 p.m. a bird chased from G/13 to G/16 - gave the female "poonk" as it swam off. towards C 23 - several times. As it cleared the point by the boat, a bird resting in the water at L 21 gave several "punkes" of the male. At this time 5 coots were seen - this chased bird being the unpaired bird. After chasing this bird, the 5 bird drifted a little S then E being joined by another bird up from the S end. There was some "put-put- put" given as to two were together
