from this lot, the bird is in good
physical condition. A large fluke
was found in the body cavity near
the kidney. Bird 32-♂, 3 flukes
taken from nasal sinuses, found a
large ulcer near pylorus loaded with
small nematodes. Bird generally in
good shape otherwise. Testes in
Bovins, leg, wing dried, bill, cloaca
in alcohol—bursa present 25 mm long,
but narrow and white, not ♀ large
flabby and gray as most are. Bird
33-♂, cloaca, bill saved, wing &
leg dried. Testes & syrinx not saved.
No nematodes in nasal sinus or
body cavity, but ulcer with nematodes
found in gizzard near pylorus. Blood
smear taken from subclavian area.
Bursa gray, flabby, 32 mm long.
Bird 34-♀, cloaca, ovary, bill in
alcohol, leg-wing dried, syrinx enlarged
as expected. Three flukes found in
nasal sinuses, ulcer with nematodes
in gizzard.—Although I hadn't
looked specifically for these ulcers
in earlier birds I am sure none
were present since I have cleaned
each one for future gastronomic
purposes and had they been present
I would have found them.
