Calif Campus, Alameda Co., Calif. - hatching the birds today - saw X/C bowing with an untagged bird for a couple of minutes, then moving over a few feet to bow with BE/G, and finally bowing with Y/G. The head nibbling and all were observed. The sex of BE/G + the pinned bird are unknown, but both X/C + Y/G are assumed σθ. Jan 25 same locality - Y/LBδ and LB/Pδ busily nibbling at one another the morning. Y/LBδ seems to be the most insistent nibbler. For a moment BEθ also nibbled at LB/Pδ while Y/LB was nibbling unnoted. Now 8:43 a.m. LB/P has moved a couple of feet and is nibbling with VG/BYθ. LG/Brθ + Br/LBθ were nibbling, the latter doing most of it. 8:46 - Br/LBθ bowing with R/Brθ also VG/BYθ is a third partner, a pinned bird is bowing with BR. LB/Pδ is now nibbling with X/Eθ. For a moment LG/Brθ nibbled at X/Brθ. Now X/W is nibbling very insistently at a pinned bird. 169- surely an adult bird, has a badly battered bill. Bird formerly tagged B/X but with no notes based on that tag - retagged P/LB. Bird formerly tagged O/G (74) w/ no known notes based on that tag, retagged O/LB - this is especially appropriate since two other birds are tagged with O/G combinations with considerable similarity.
