Resexed Q - it was a male as I originally thought, but I had not actually found the testes the first time, but rather a fold of rectum. This time the testes were really found. Healing had progressed favorably, and I had a little trouble getting in thru some tissues. I may have cut some leg muscle - at least the bird is limping badly. The skin had not healed enough that when the stitches were removed it opened up a little, but the underlying tissues were well healed. BW! Tried again, this time from the right side instead of the left where I cut last time. Again I ran into the air sac, but I didn't have to severe bleeding this time. Finally punched a hole in the air sac and found the testes. Lots of fat on this bird and the wound was sprinkled with sulfanilamide so it should do okay. W/B resexed, still a ?, ovary with many small follicles, but no large ones. Was somewhat bloated, and generally not in tip-top shape. Had an orange-yellow cheese substance in coelom, and many tissues were loose and puffy.
