Fulica americana -1/2- 4/29 Arrow Lake, Contra Costa Co, Calif - Something 5:53 SIR is feeding at G4- 4/30 Same locality - yesterday evening. I was back here- the ? was feeding at H14 when the mallards were chased out of B12-14 area- she "poonked" a great deal but made no attempt to attack them as they fed at D+E/17+18 and then moved to B 20 and eventually to G26. - S was at M 26 early in the evening but was lost track of. A yng was calling as the caught somewhere now- L 21 - all was quiet by 7:30 p.m.- except an occasional late "peep" by tho one yng to 7:45- tried to find the yng one but without luck. - at 12:45 no coots visible-can hear a "whewr" at H/3 - then a "poonk" at G8- several min started out at H4 but quickly turned back as B+S ventured out with ? white headed yng at G8- a single black headed & breasted bird at H/2 is steadily whewring at 3 second intervals except for a few longer games. 12:45 I believe R1 is the bird with Sat E9 - no black on # breast visible above water - the other white-headed young is with B at H4. - S at E9 is "pumping", facing me while doing it. S is circling out from C7 to C10, "pumping" the car at BB/10- G is out (12:54) at G7- this bird has a solid medium gray head and it looks as tho it has a mottled
