YS + X are both dark headed birds - and good flyers - they will probably leave the lake shortly. S/R feeds with Y + B's quite a bit of the time and is nearly as dark, but its head is still not the rusty color of X+ B5. RIB is in nearly the same plumage as S/R- and I believe G is to tho I haven't gotten a good look at G for awhile. - 2:00- The six min were feeding at F8 until I came to them - then they moved over to G8 - at 2:04 B went "popping" from D12 to F/8 and without ever charging caused all the min to vanish into the cat-tails along the W side of the S pond. - G proves to be intermediate in head plumage between G/S and R/B. July 28 Same locality - At 7:20 a.m. S, B and 3 yng feeding at B10 when I drove up. Gone at H5. 7:30 S/R+ B's came out of H4- started out onto the lake when S + B appeared at F9- they both quickly ducked back whence they came. 7:55 all the 5 brood min are feeding together on the lake this morning tho they have been confined to the cat-tails mostly thus far. S is spending most of his time at G9. - The yng that had the pure white head yesterday seems to be missing today. - the two dark headed birds are both present- the one that had just a couple of white spots on its breast yesterday now has two
