Eulica Americana July 21 Jewel Lake, Contra Costa Co. Calif. but P/B is feeding - think all check P/B minute by minute from now 3:08 until 4 p.m. - at 3:08 P/B is preening at G-8- at 3:09 feeding - 3:10 alert restiulless, 3:10.30 feeding - but only 1 or 2 bites - still alert - small birds are chirping in the chaparral and a jay is excited - 3:12 beside G/B and feeding the birds are still chirping -feeding with S/R & Y now 3:13 - is eating pondweed filaments - 3:14 still feeding - but now seems to be hunting for something especially - picking up tid- bites and keeping one eye on low flying plane 3:15 - still picking up tid-bits and looking around at 3:16 - feeding between R/S and Y at 3:17 at about G-8.1 - 3:21 still feeding between G/S and Y- but keeping one eye on low flying planes, 3:24 G/B tried to catch two low flying copulating dragon-flies but didn't. P/B still feeding at 3:24.30 - 3:27 still feeding with R/P/B and G/B close at hand. the other birds have been preening and rest P/B has not yet - 3:30 still feeding - now now C at F-8.6. - the left tag on G/B looks as tho it has gone bad- looks white or opaque & colorless. 3:32 P/B momentarily became alerted but then went back to feeding. 3:34 he stopped to preen - at 3:34:30 S chased P/B and others to G-5 where they continued preening to 3:36 when S chased them to E-4- S charged in there, P/B coming out to E-8,
