Two clubs formed; one of about 50 birds behind house at Nedge of lagoon, and another of about 138 birds about middle of the island on the W side of lagoon, on dune flats. Howland Island 19Oct. Swim out landing @ 1800 hrs 15 Oct. I have recorded a small BFB Club 300 yds. N of Star's Town (on least edge) and a large Club (100birds.) on West beach 100yds. N of South end of Island. There are in addition to usual clubs on, E beach. 20 Oct Nest count 2E = 2 L.N : 36 Final estimate of 1000 birds on island. Baker Island 16-17 Sept. 35 birds, class B. Two nest on 17th w/ 1 nestling,one w/2eggs. 16-20 Oct. 25 birds, class B. One nest w/ nesting. Christmas Island 28Oct I am sitting on buoy at entrance to lagoon. 29 Oct. SW POINT: 15 adults, 6 immatures; 6 nests w/L.Nestlings; 1 nest w/ 1egg.
