1965 RRJ 25 SIC#8 by Stadel. He estimates 50,000 C. frig. and at least 4 S.T. colors averaging 10 acres each w/ 1 sq ft per sq yard. All 3 common shorebirds seen. Reef Herons about 20. Coconut crabs abundant and large - good to eat / another sp. of mosquito found at night. Banded 5000 S.T. in p.m. and took 23 S.T. blood samples. X banded 1100 S.T. and took 3 berline samples. 18JUNE65 Stadel and J took rubber boat down lagoon about 1000. Picked up Silly who was collecting shorebirds (1GP, 3RT.) On way back to camp we collected 1 dark phase Reef Heron and a Blue Gray Wader. Stadel & J set out again in rubber boat in PM. Collected series of 5 ad. RFB, 1 Fairy Tern, 2G. Frigate. Took 2 Berline samples. Rough skinned all large birds (took blood) back at camp. Set out for Sooty Tern
