RRT (1) Nov. 18, 1963 Mockumia Island (14) Werner King and myself arrived on the island at 13:40 hours for purposes of banding, botanical survey and burrow measurement studies. A collection of plants was made for identification at the U.S. Herbarium this week. At this time a notebook will be compiled containing these specimens. A total of 85 winter or just mature Wedgetail shearwaters were banded. Fourteen birds were found in previously unmarked burrows, bringing the total winter Wedgetail population to 57. Nestlings were found from nearly completely down-could to without down. Four previously marked burrows yielded no bird, possibly indicating that these individuals had already left the island. This possibility is enhanced since we managed to find only 8 (recaptures) out of 14 previously banded immatures. Burrow measurements (diameter at
