Oct. 30, 1963 Mokuania Island (14) At 1330 hours, W. King and myself arrived at Takuilo point. Attempted to arrive to Takaiholua island (12), but found it to be impossible. Strong currents and high waves combined with steep cliffs of the island sides prevented a landing. This island as well as islands (13), and (15) can be scratched off since they are small, barren rocks and are impossible to get to. Arrived at Mokuania Island at 1400 hrs. Swam to island and decided that we had the wrong size bands on them. King is returning at 1800 hrs with the correct bands. Oct. 30, 1963 W. King arrived 1700 hrs. for landing. Island has already been marked for location of Wedgtail burrows. Arrived at low tide, well below waist at departure. Twentyfive Wedgtails were banded, 11 of which were adults; one of 11 being dark phase. The immatures
