Werner King found 3-4 dead immatures; we counted 6 dead adults (one in a deep lava pit from which it probably could not escape and consequently starved.), and 4 spoiled eggs. At 1755 an adult came in from sea, circled island and disappeared into the brush. At 1910 as we were walking back to Oahu & more adults flew into island. A flock of ~35 shore birds were on the island. Petrels, Golden Plovers, and Turnstones were identified (see checklist). Two species of orb-weaving Garden Spiders were seen in large numbers.
