R.C. (1) Repria Island (4) Oct. 25, 1963 Made first trip on Oct. 25, 1963. Wheeled to island from Alala point, a distance of about 1200 feet. Field party consisted of R. Fleck, T. Amoroso & W. King. Island is approx. 625' by 375 feet. Estimated maximum elevation is 10 feet. This island consists entirely of lava rock covered with brush and creeping plants; no trees. Care must be exercised in walking about island not to fall in the many pits in the weathered rocks that are concealed by the veg. Scaevola was [illegible] & other species were collected for later identification. A total of 70 immature Wedgetail Shearwaters were tagged for banding at a later date. About 2/3 of the island was searched. The 1/3 not searched contained the highest shrub & possibly contained a greater conc. of birds than the rest of the island.
