Fleet, R. 1964--notes by species--Kure 15 Black-footed Albatross Dance: Similar to Laysan except wings, when dancing, are cocked away from body (backwards and outwards). Aggressive: This species is much more excitable than Laysan, will pursue, vomit frequently when approached, and egg-chick "talk" is much more pronounced, as is nest defense. This species begins to breed about 2 weeks before Laysan. Nest: This species makes do with a slight depression in the sand. This is eventually deepened by chick. March 19--Now have one chick weighing 9 lbs, 10 oz., also one 12 lbs.
