Aggressive: This species is much more excitable than Laysan, will pursue, vomit frequently when approached, and egg-chick "talk" is much more pronounced, as is nest defense. This species begins to breed about 2 weeks before Laysan. Nest: This species makes do with a slight depression in the sand. This is eventually deepened by chick. March 19--Now have one chick weighing 9 lbs, 10 oz., also one 12 lbs.
