A. Feathers Jan. 8, 1934. 500 + ft., Colorado R., 14 mi. S. E. Searchlight, Clark Co., Nevada. Dr. Seth B. Benson, D. M. Hatfield, H. S. Fitch and I left Berkeley Jan. 6, to cover the region included as adjacent to the lower Colorado River north of Needles, Calif. and south of Brown's Ferry, in a collecting survey of the birds and mammals of the region, for the Museum of Vertebrate Zoology, of the University of California. The first day's drive was uneventful, and the night was spent on the desert a few miles north of Moabie, Calif. The temperature was below 32° during the night. Jan. 7 we proceeded to Ludlow, Calif., where a flat tire on our truck cased a few hours' delay. A new tire was purchased and we continued to near Danby, where a tire blowout gave more trouble. Needles, Calif., was reached late that evening, and the night was spent near there.
