Feathers. 1934. July 2. 4600 ft., 12 mi. S Springton, W Walker R, Lyon Co., Nev. I visited my steel traps, finding nothing caught. I shot and put up a yellow warbler in the morning. In the afternoon I set one gopher setting, and shot and put up a sparrow hawk. July 3. I shot and put up a lazuli bunting. Later, I took a muskrat from one of my steel traps, at the edge of the river. Bacon rind had been used as bait. July 4. I put up the muskrat skin, and also a gopher which I had to caught in damp soil near camp! July 5. I shot a lazuli bunting. Testes greatly enlarged. Later I shot a black-throated sparrow, and put up the skins of both birds. July 6. In the morning, I shot a downy woodpecker and a bullock oriole. I put up the skins of both birds in the afternoon. All steel traps which I had set, were taken up.
