A. Feathers 20 mi. W Red Bluff, Tehama Co., Calif. 2. Nov. 23, 1933. (cont.) One coon climbed a manzanita bush, one climbed a digger pine and the hounds killed the third. I shot the one in the bush. The coon in the tree remained there during an absence of ten minutes, and was then shaken out and killed by the old hound and a young hound. Traps were set about a dead chicken near the house. A very fat skunk was caught under ordinary circumstances. 81. ♀ Mephitis 605-290-70-28. Dec. 1, 1933. After walking about two miles up Cold Fork Creek, at about 11:00 P.M. my hound started on a hot trail. In 15 or 20 minutes he had tied a coon in a hollow white oak tree. The hound voluntarily re- mained at the tree while I returned to the house for an axe and the pup. On returning, I chopped the tree down.
