Feathers. Jan. 10, 1934. 500 + ft., Colorado R., 14 mi. N. E. Searchlight, Clark Co., Nevada - Castor canadensis. Beaver tracks and cuttings were noticed at the river-edge in the mud, at a place where the bank was about six feet high. The cuttings were willow shoots. Some had the basal end embedded in the mud, while others were lying in the water. The river flow was comparatively swift at this point, and the channel deep, with precipitous banks. Three no. 4 steel traps were set at this place, willow shoots being used for bait. Jan. 13, 1934. Colorado R., 31 mi. N, 2 1/2 mi. W Camp Mohave, Mohave Co., Arizona. I set three no. 4 traps here for beaver. The animals seem to have been here re- eently, but I smoothed out the dust at the tops of numerous slides, in order to determine whether there are any beaver here at the present time.
