Feathers. 1934. 500 ft., Colorado R., ½ mi. M Nev.- Calif. monument, Clark Co., Nev. Feb. 11, 1934. (cont.) Muspidis were taken from traps in the willow- association. One was shot. The other was killed with a club. In another trap, at the edge of the river, under willow trees, an Otus asio was found dead. The trap had been baited with meat. I returned to camp about as darkness settled. In the evening, I put up the barred screech owl, and the muskrat was skinned. Feb. 12, 1934. Early in the morning, I went with Orr and Hatfield, to visit their gopher traps, near Hiko Spring. Approximately fifteen Ammospermophilus were seen. I shot one. Their metropolis was in the rocky hills association. After we had returned to camp, I put up the muskrat skin, and skinned out the two shunks. No specimens were taken from the muskrat traps. I took them all up and brought them to camp. While dinner was cooking, I shot a free-tailed bat (Tadarida mexicana). Several bats were flying above the grassy flat, just below camp.
