Within the Park, 5/1 all day hiking from Basin Trailhead to Laguna Meadows, Boot Canyon and Spring, S to South Rim, back to Boot, and up to summit,Emory Peak at 7845' el., then down Pinnacles Trail to Basin Trail Head. 5/2, by car and foot to St. Elena Canyon and side-trips along Rio Grane, then abound to east at Rio Grande Village, Boquillas and Canyon, and Dagger Flaton way north out of Park to Marathon. See indexed and dated BBNP Bird Checklist for above travels - almost 180 diff. sps., but only one noted here: ***Colima Warbler - Vermivora crissalis -in canyon for 2-2½ hours on two visits - found 1st on E side of creek, across from lower part of camp site ridge, found 2nd on E side, across from picnic table and ranger cabin near "Spring" sign. found 2, one on each side of creek at junction with Juniper Canyon trail. found 1 along trail to South Rim, ¼+ mile N of Rim(and Rim trail).
