Red-throated Loon Canada Goose White-fronted Goose - pairs and broods King Eider - pr. and brood Red Phalarope Semi-palmated Sandpipers Northern Phalarope Pomarine Jaeger Glaucous Gull Arctic Terns Gray-crowned Rosy Finches Lapland Longspur. July 24, 1978- Alyeska Pipeline from Galbreath Lake, S 135 miles to Prospect, by bus. --- just W of and S of Antigun Pass Ravens and Glaucous Gulls --- Districh Valley Spotted and Solitary Sandpipers at mile 190. --- about mile 200 on pipeline - 645p.m. ***Hawk Owl - perched atop 18-20' black spruce in equally tall spruce area. --- at North Fork, Koyukuk River F Red-breasted Merganser Golden Eagle Tree Swallow - fartherest north I've seen them. --- before Prospect Short-eared Owl N 3-toed Woodpecker near Wiseman. White-wing Crossbl, C & H Redpolls. Red-necked Grebe at Fairbanks airport 9p.m. ADST.& Violet-green & Tree Sw, C.Raven July 25, 1978, Valdez Arm, land and on water, Alaska. 1230moon - 630plm. Pelagic Cormorant - 6 on buoy Blue-winged Teal Wigeons White-wing Scoters Bald Eagle over oil plant N. Phalarope - 25-30 flocked on water Common or Mew Gull Glaucous-winged Gull Arctic Terns Common Murre - 2 Marbled Murrelet - 3 for every **Kittlitz Murrelet - LIFER - with total of about 30 of both. NW Crow Black-billed Magpie Water Ouzel - 1 in dog-salmon spawning creek
