Or. 9/17 - 2 buffleheads on Betty Lk (S of Waldo L) 9/3 - Spotted Sandpiper at Sawtooth Lake in p.m. 9/16 - Sawwhet Owl at opening to Arnold Ice Cave. Got it into open and studied carefully. 9/20 - Yellow-shafted Flicker at mouth of Columbia R. at Ft Stevens jetty. 9/14-17 - Red-shafted Flickers were extremely abundant in all areas covered these dates. Singly and often in small bunches. 9/18-20 1000's of Tree Swallows along the Oregon coast on wirelines most of time. 9/6 - Joseph N to Wn-Ida. and in B.C 9/9-10 - Stellar Jays always seemed in pairs by road. 9/20 - At Bay City Sewage Pond - a Prunus tree by railroad had a dozen varieties of birds, including Orange-crown, Yellow, Audubon, Blk-thrtd Gray, Townsend, MacGillivray and Wilson Warbler, Chestnut-back Chickadee. 9/9 5 Rosy Finches near Victoria Glacier above Lake Louise. -8 - VNVISTINOT
