Marsh Hawk- Teller Rd and Safety Lagoon Gyrfalcon - dark phase, 2 with well-grown young on cliff of rock knob above road. Picked up a Pintail from flats 1½-miles away. On Taylor Road we found others and I learned the entire Peninsula was well-stocked. **Willow Ptarmigan - Lagopus lagopus - life lister - several seen at low elevations along the roads we travelled the two days. Brown colors were redder. **Rock Ptarmigan - Lagopus mutus - life lister - found one in open field below road in willow valley. It was grayed brown, had a dark tail and upper coverts, small bill and croaked as it flew. Sandhill Crane Semipalmated Plover - ker-wee call Golden Plover - several pair on the rocky mountain slopes. Surfbird on Taylor road mountain Ruddy Turnstones Semipalmated Sandpiper Western Sandpipers Least Sandpipers Rock Sandpipers - nest w/ 4 huge eggs on wet tundra knob. Dunlins Stilt Sandpiper [illegible] Lagoon Wandering Tattler perched on a willow snag! **Bar-tailed Godwit - Limosa lapponica - NA lister - on sandbar at Nome River-Safety L. Rd. Whimbrels fairly common on higher elevation wet tundra Common Snipes winnowing calls everywhere we went. Nest w/ 3 eggs under willow. South exposure of slope of Vaccinium Salix, Alnus Betula. Northern Phalaropes Parasitic Jaeger Long-tailed Jaegers common in prs and threes. Glaucous Gull Glaucous-winged Gull Mew Gulls Black-legged Kittiwakes Arcti Terns common **Aleutian Tern - Sterna aleutica -life lister - just 3 seen along Safety Lagoon spits. Short-eared Owl along Safety Lagoon Road Says Phoebe Common Ravens Tree Swallows common along rivers. Robins Cliff Swallows Swainson Thrush Gray-cheeked Thrush, 3 nests, 1 ready, leggs at 16", 4 eggs at 40" * Wheatear -3 on Taylor Rd. 1 w/ buff thrt and chest **Arctic Warbler - Phylloscopus borealis -life lister - has dry rattle or slow chipping sp.call. **Yellow Wagtail - Motacilla flava - NA lister - 2 pr at airport 6/13, and elsewhere Water Pipit - few (more)
