Yellow breast and ? belly. Dark pointed bill, white line over eye, grayish above, with large, light (white) patches on shoulder area of wings. Not Y-b Chat. Pyrrhuloxia - 1 pr. Black-headed Grosbeaks - 1 pr. Lazuli Bunting LM House Finches Lark Buntings - few Lesser Goldfinches Ruf-sided Towhee Brown Towhee - 1 with strong several-syllable song. Five-striped Sparrow - Aimophila quin questriata - LIFER - saw two or three - good looks-on south slope, cactus, ocotilla, scrub, herbs, and few mesquite. Perched on ocotilla. Rich brown above - uniform on head and back. Face dark. Facial stripes beow eye-bill line, vertical, 3 white, with black inbetween. Grayer side of head and below. Tail grayer. Appearance is"long-pointed, bill to tail". Song from ocotilloa 3 syllable, rough call and assorted chirps - not like, but similar to song sparrow, etc. Rufous-crowned Sparrow Black-throated Sparrows Chipping Sparrows Brewer Sparrows Song Sparrow ** ??** - Trim, 6& " bird. 100' away on ocotillo on dry, sparse south slope hill (with Five-striped SpS.), perched erect, repeating 3-syllables - 2hi, 1 lower, all "churred". Appeared uniformly blue gray on sides and above, with clear yellow below on chest and belly. Color layout underneath like black phoebe or slate-colored junco males.
