Mountain Quail - 4 Valley Quail - 18 Band-tailed Pigeons - perhaps 1,500 or more in pairs to 40-50 per flock from east of Colfax to NW, W, and some to SW and S. Flew in silence - appeare to come up out of N Fk canyon to SE of Colfax. Some flocks were flying back toward the canyon at 4:15 p.m. while it was snowing lightly as we left for Sacto. Red-shafted Flicker - 1 Acorn Woodpecker - 2 Stellar Jay - 2 Scrub Jay - 4 Wren Tit - 3 Varied Thrush - 2 seen and heard, also Hermit Thrush - 1 Golden-crowned Kinglet - 7 Audubon Warbler - 1 Oregon Junco - 15-20 Brewer Blackbird - 1 over to E, gave call once each"two flurries" of wingbeats March 17, 1962, Solano Co.
