Valley Quail - 18
Band-tailed Pigeons - perhaps 1,500 or more in pairs to 40-50 per flock from east of Colfax to NW, W, and some to SW and S. Flew in silence - appeare to come up out of N Fk canyon to SE of Colfax. Some flocks were flying back toward the canyon at 4:15 p.m. while it was snowing lightly as we left for Sacto.
