Mallard - 1 pair White-tailed Kite - 3 adults Marsh Hawk - 2 immatures. Sparrow Hawk - 1 Pheasant - 3 Coot - 5 Killdeer - 1 Calif. Gull - 1 imm. mourning Dove - 2 Kingfisher - 1 Red-shafted Flicker- 1 Downy Woodpecker Nuttall Woodpecker- 1 ad and 1 imm. Western Kingbird - 2 pair Ash-throated Flycatcher - 2 pair Black Phoebe - 4 Little Flycatcher- 1 Tree Swallow - Dozens, and watehed 1 adult feed young perched on wire line, while flying. Barn Swallow - 2 Cliff Swallows - 20 ScrubbyJay -1 W. Crow - 12 Bush tits House Wren - 2 Yellow-throats - 2 W. Meadowlark Brewer Blackbirds Cowbirds No orioles at all Blue Grosbeak - 2 M, 1 carrying food to 2 young perched in poison oak thicket. 1 imm M sang. Lazuli Bunting LM House Finch - few Common Goldfinch - sev. adults and young Spotted Towhees Brown Towhees - Song Sparrows August 7-8, 1954, Camp Harvey West, Echo Lake, Eludoro Co. Calif. noon - 3 p.m. Calif. Gull - 2 Anna Hummingbirds - several Rufous Hummer - 1 Red-shafted Flicker - 3 Hairy Woodpecker - 2 Wood Pewee Olive-sided Flycatcher Tree Swallows (see species entry,this date) Clarke Nutcrackers Stellar Jays - several family groups. Mountain Chickadees(see sp. entry,this date) Red-breasted Nuthatches and young Brown Creepers. Robins many young about. Hemit Thrush Warbling Vireos Audubon Warblers - no full adults seen. Pileolated Warblers Calaveras Warblers Cassin purple Finches W. Tanagers - feed on red elderberry Red Crossbills - few Pine Grosbeaks Pine Siskins several pairs.
