Rain on 9th, fogs and clouds on 10th, and clear on 11th.
Pacific Loon - few
Red-throated Loon - 1 F or imm.
Double-crested Cormorants
Brandt's Cormorants - on nests at Pt. Lobos, and others carrying seaweed to nest sites.
Baird's Cormorants
Brown Pelican - 1 Pair at Pt. Pinos.
Pink-footed Shearwaters - 12's
Sooty Shearwaters - 1100-1500 offshore. on water in morning, and busy soaring in p.m.
Duck Hawk - 1
Sparrow Hawk - few
California Quail - F in lead & 300 yards.
Black Turnstone - 3
Wandering Tattler - 2
W. Gulls
Herring Gulls
Calif. Gulls.
Pigeon Guillemots
Band-tailed Pigeons - 2 on TV antennae near Asilomar.
Red-shafted Flicker - nest in Monterey Pine on west side at 23' ht. Dia. 12".

Black Phoebe - Western Flycatcher Wood Pewee
Violet-green Swallows - investigating nest holes of Chestnut-backed Chickadees in snag.
Western Crows - few pairs seen - and then 30 or so called in with crow call to Asilomar.
Bush Tits - 8
Chestnut-backed Chickadees - nest with young. Hole at 11' on WNW side of 15" dia. Mont. Pinesna
Pigmy Nuthatch - several noisy pairs in area. Nest at 35' on NNW side of Mont. Pine - face open
Robin House Finches drank and bathed regularly.
Hermit Thrushes Purple Finch - nest on rafter under eave.
