Ducks - 8 or 10 Coots - 34-35 Oct. 28, 1952, Wingfield Park, Reno, Nevada, along Truckee R. 9:15 a.m. Canada Geese - 70 or so Mallards - 34 Coots - 120 Oct. 28, 1952, Toulon Sink, Pershing Co. Nevada. 1400PST. Snowy Egret Snow Geese - 1100 Pintails Green-winged Teal Shoveller Coot Killdeer Avocet There were approximately 23,000 ducks in area, that could be seen from west side. 6 mourning doves NW of Lovelock at 1:30 pm Oct. 28, 1952, Fernley Sink, NE of Fernley, Lyon Co. Nevada. 4 p.m. Eared Grebe - 150-200 visible from hiway. Shoveller - 6 Killdeer Least Sandpiper Ravens Pipits Saw eared grebe and avocet dead from botulism ?? Oct. 28, 1952, Silver State Gun Club, near Leetville Jct, Churchill Co. Nevada. Pied-billed Grebe - 1 Mallard - 32 Baldpate Pintail - 12 Green-winged Teal - 4 Cinnamon Teal - 1 male seen Ruddy Duck - 5 Coots - 46 Killdeer Shrike Meadowlark Redwings - 2 only. Oct. 28, 1952, Soda Lake, Churchill Co. Nevada. 445 p.m. Eared Grebe - few Blue Heron - 1 about 2,500 waterfowl of following species present over most of lake, but more concentrated at west end: Mallard, Baldpate, Pintail, Shoveller, Red-head, Ruddy, coot. Yellow-legs Calif. Gulls - 15
