Pied-billed Grebe - 4 Ruddy Duck - 3 Coot - 1 Mourning Dove - 10 Western Kingbird - 1 Meadowlark - 1 Brown Towhee - 2 August 22, 1952, Farmington Reservoir, S.Joaquin-Stanislaus Co.Calif. 0745-0800PDST. Reservoir area dry. Blue Heron Sparrow Hawk California Quail - pr. adults, with 12 young not over 1½-2" high. Pheasant - several 3/4-grown young. Killdeer Mourning Doves- 11 & 18 pairs, and 2 flocks of 63 and 97 birds. Red-shafted Flicker Western Kingbird Barn Swallow Calif. Shrike Meadowlark Bicolor Redwings Brewer Blackbirds House Finch Green-backed Goldfin h Aug. 22, 1952, Woodward Reservoir, NE Stanislaus Co. Calif. 0800-0830PDST. Water within 2 feet or so of full elevation. Green around all edges. Pied-billed Grebe - 3 immatures. Western Grebe - 2 Blue Heron - 5 Common Egret - 19 Mallard - 5 Pintail - 64 Golden-Eagle - 1 imm. Sparrow Hawk - 18 Calif. Quail. Pheasant - several 3/4 grown. Killdeer - 25 Calif.
