Marsh Hawk - 1 pair Sparrow Hawk - 5 Pheasants - many seen- 35-40. Most in ragged plumage-immatures. 2 in one willow and 2 in another willow at heights of about 10-12 feet. Coots - 4 Killdeer - 1 Red-shafted Flicker - about 25 seen, mostly paired, and in willows Black Phoebe - 3 or 4 seen Barn Swallows - 10 or 15 in loose formation over lake surface, and flock of 23 perched in compact bunch on wire line. California Jay - several Western Crow - 1 Marsh Wren - 2 heard singing. California Shrike - buzz-call Pacific Yellowthroat in dense stand of Scirpus Meadowlarks - few Redwings - about 150 Brewer Blackbirds - about 75 or 80 Lazuli Bunting - 1 female or immature in thistle patch Song Sparrow - 2 or 3 seen - 1 calling.
