Blue Heron Common Egret Mallard - 23 Vulture Red-tailed Hawk Valley Quail - 65 in 3 coveys Killdeer California Gull - 3 Mourning Doves Western Kingbird Black Phoebe Barn Swallow California Jay Bicolored Redwings Brewer Blackbirds Brown Towhees August 16, 1951, Stony Gorge Reservoir, Glenn Co. Calif. Water surface elevation at 803. Almost all exposed slopes have good stand of cocklebur (Xanthium) Blue Heron - 1 on dead snag. August 16, 1951, Gray Lodge Refuge, SW Butte Co. Calif. 1235-1250PDT. A very small % of area being flooded. Most dry and burned. Blue Heron American Egret - 3 or 4 Snowy Egret - 25-30 Cackling goose - 2 in trap—probably cripples.
