Didn't go clear to lake, but instead made walk through timber above
lake near Kingston Grade Rd.
Habitat Visited: Willow, aspen and alder creek bottom. Timber com-
possed principley of Pinus jeffreyi with scattered Pinus contorta
and fir [illegible]bies sp. Understory shrubs manzanita and others.
Shrubs scattered.
Turkey Vulture
Sparrow Hawk - one on snag
Williamson's Sapsucker - saw one and heard another
White-headed Woodpecker - Saw one
Hairy Woodpecker - saw one
Hammond's or Wright's Flycatcher - heard several
Wood Pewee - one along creek bottom
Olive-sided Flycatcher - heard one - two different calls
Steller's Jay
Clark's Nutcracker - saw one
Mountain Chickadee - saw several
White-breasted Nuthatch - saw one or two -
Red-breasted Nuthatch - saw one, heard another. In pines
Creeper - heard one or two
Robin - Along creek bottom and in forest too.
Townsend's Solitaire - heard several sing and saw two.
Golden-crowned Kinglet - H&S Heard notes and calls which were almost
undoubtedly of this species and not creeper, but could not see
them.
Ruby-crowned Kinglet - Watched one for some time.
Warbling Vireo - All along creek bottoms
Audubon's Warbler - saw one and heard another
Pileolated Warbler - All along creek bottoms. Lots of them.
Western Tanager - saw several, heard others
Cassin's Purple Finch - saw several
Pine Siskin - heard flock go over
Oregon Junco -
