Pacific Loon - 2 Eared Grebe Pied-billed Grebe Brown Pelicans - 18 White Pelicans - 7 & 12 Farallon Cormorants - 95 Blue Heron - 2 American Egret - 20 Black Brant - Most in central portion of bay, some opposite fish piers down- town. Some fed at base of cliff in park. Others feeding over bay. Some moving in from south and a few out to north. Total about 8,500. Baldpate - 24 Green-winged Teal - 35 Cinnamon Teal - 3 pairs White-winged Scoter Surf Scoter Red-breasted Merganser - 17 American Merganser - 3 Sparrow Hawk Valley Quail Coot - 32 Killdeer Long-billed Curlews - 2,400 Willets - 450 - some flew over 200 yards overhead. Godwits - 13,000 Western and Least Sandpipers - 12,000 Western Gulls Herring Gulls Bonaparte Gull - few adults - most with oil on plumage Mourning Dove Rufous Hummingbird - 5M seen Kingfisher Rough-winged Swallows Cliff Swallows - 500& nests in east-facing cliff (slide) east of bay. Monterey Wren-tit Tule Marsh Wren Cedar Waxwings Pacific Yellowthroat English Sparrow Meadowlark San Diego Redwings Brewer Blackbird Purple Finch House Finch Common Goldfinches Oregon Junco Mitchell White-crowned Sparrows S.
