Flicker Violet-green Swallows Oregon Chickadees in english walnut trees Slender-billed nuthatches in white oak across the street Seattle Wren in laurel hedge. Robin - many around - some paired, and one pair started building nest in English walnut at 18' in crotch - nest started on April 12, and although it rained much of the following days, it was about complete on April 16. Lutescent Warblers - lst heard in Salem on April 16. Audubon Warblers singing Meadowlarks Brewer Blackbirds Evening Grosbeaks - a few small flocks abut town. Juncos Chipping Sparrows present from the l2th on, at least. April 17, 1950, Corvallis-12-mile Swamp, Benton Co. Oregon - 0930-0940. Vulture Marsh Hawk F Sparrow Hawk Pheasants Violet-green Swallows Robins Cassin's Vireo Western Meadlowlark Brewer Blackbirds carring nesting material along hiway. Juncos Chipping Sparrows Rusty Song Sparrows April 17, 1950, 12-mile Swamp - 0940-0950 PST. Benton Co. Oregon Blue Heron - 7 White-fronted Goose - 9 Mallards - 200M and 200F Pintail - 300M and 250F Gadwall - 2 Green-winged Teal - 50 Shoveller - 10 Coot - l seen Yellow-legs - 75 D owitcher - 10 Violet-green Swallows Tule Wrens Pacific Yellow-throats Northwestern Redwings Brewer Blackbirds White-crowned Sparrows Golden-crowned Sparrows Song Sparrows
