American Egret - 4 along river
Wood Ducks in flood sloughs in river bottom habitat
Vultures - 2 perched in sycamore, and others over area.
Red-tailed Hawk - pair in tall sycamores
Valley Quail - 3 coveys - 35, 19, and 26.
Mourning Doves - pair ed up and scattered.
Red-shafted Flickers
California Woodpeckers - dozens - up to 14 seen in one white oak, chasing each other.
Nuttall Woodpecker - working sycamores and white oaks.
Tree Swallows near river and in tree tops.
California Jays
Western Crows Slender-billed Nuthatches
California Thrasher calling from 40' up in white oak near tangle of grape vines.
Audubon Warblers
Western Meadowlarks
Green-backed Goldfinches
Sacramento Spotted Towhees

Vultures
Red-bellied Hawk in sycamore upper branches, near creek.
Valley Quail - 2 or 3 small coveys
Kingfishers - observed 2 perched on limb over north edge of creek, about 12' up,
with the male bird atop the female, holding on with his bill in her crown
feathers. Later he fell off and flew away, and then she left, and she was the
first to return,followed soon by the male, but both flew away again before any
further activity could be observed.

California Woodpeckers - dozens and dozens in white oaks and sycamores.
Nuttall Woodpeckers working the upper twigs of white oak and sycamore, calling now
and then.
