Blue Heron Mallards Pintails Shovellers Lesser Scaups Ruddy Ducks Sparrow Hawks California Jays Black-billed Magpies Alaska Pine Grosbeak on road in yellow pine forest N of lake. Juncos Song Sparrows 1492 Feb. 22, 1950, Ponds N of Eugene, Lane Co. Oregon - 1220-1235 PST Ruddy Duck - 3 Coot - 2 Observed on 5 different ponds along hiway. 1493 Feb. 25, 1950, Klamath Lake, Klamath Co. Oregon. 1330-1345 PST Eared Grebe Pintails Green-winged Teal Lesser Scaup Buffleheads Coots California Gulls Red-winged Blackbirds Canada Goose flocks in fields, flooded, S of K. Falls. Ravens 1494 February 26, 1950, Southside Park, Sacramento, California - 1745-1800 PST - dusk. Pied-billed Grebe - 5 - one gave call. Snow Goose - pulling grass on dirt margin of lake. Mallards - about 14 pair and a few single drakes - calm until dusk, when they began flying around the lake and park. Pintail - 2 males Ring-billed Ducks - 24M and 10F or imm. Canvasback - 2M Lesser Scaup - 2F or imm. Coots - 40 California Jays Brewer Blackbirds in trees and bushes of islands at dusk. 1495
