AREA NORTH OF PORTLAND, January 1, 1950 continued. Ruby-crowned Kinglet - one on Leadbetter property. Golden-crowned Kinglet - about 3 flocks noted. Total estimated at 25. Pipit - only 3 seen. These at Bybee Lake. Audubon Warbler - flocks mostly in back of dump. Saw about 35. These birds were working the sides of trees almost creeper style. Seattle Wrens were doing same. Snow covered up [illegible] normal food sources for most part. English Sparrow - 50 around dump and vicinity noted. Western Meadowlark - 8 near incinerator. Red-wing - With brewer's about 25 at least between dump and Smith Lake. Brewer's Blackbird - 470 around dump and between dump and Smith L. Purple Finch - Only 5. House Finch - About 150 seen. 125 were in one flock between dump and Ramsey Lake. Goldfinch - Large flocks through area. About 460 seen in all. Spotted Towhee - 2 Ore. Junco - 100, mostly on Leadbetter Proerty. Golden-crowned Sparrow - only 2 seen. At Ramsey Lake. Song Sparrow - Total of about 55 seen. Total species - 46 Total individuals - around 10,329
