Meadowlark - 5 Brewer Blackbirds - 80 Goldfinch sp?? - 24 Sept. 28, 1947, 12-mile Swamp, Corvallis, Hi Ovc/ 70 Brkn, 1600-1630 Ring-necked Pheasants - 6 Mourning Dove - 10 Flicker - 1 Oregon Chickadee - 1 Pipits - 2 W. Meadowlark - 1 Brewer Blackbird - 38 Sept. 28, 1947, 12-mile Swamp, (Corvallis) 1500-1600, Hi Ovc/ 70Brkn, Mallard - about 60-75 in the area Blue-winged Teal - 3 seen Green-winged Teal - about 25 Shoveller - a few Vulture - 3 or 4 circling over Pheasants - about 10 adults and young flushed Coot - about 9 seen Killdeer - a few Wilson Snipe - flushed 7 Lowitcher - 4 very tame with mallards and green-wings Violet-green Swallows - 50-100 present Tree Swallows - about 25 seen Barn Swallows - 150-175 in the area in flocks with the others. Oregon Chickadee - one or two seen and heard Tule Wren - scolding and singing Pipits flying over Pacific Yellowthroat - 2 or 3 seen Redwings - about 30 seen (may have been more). Willow Goldfinches common Oregon Towhees - 2 pair seen. Sept. 28, 1947 - 0930-1000, Timbered Ridge north of Fern Ridge Reserv., Lane Co. Cackling Geese - a flight of 45 came in from the NW Flicker calling Stellar Jay Long-tailed Jay Chestnut-backed Chickadees Golden-crowned Kinglets Pipits flying over Hutton ?? Vireo - one heard, probably this species. Audubon Warbler Oregon Towhees Purple Finches singing Junco
