KARAKIA Dowitcher - Probably thousands on Lower Klamath. Next to least and western sandpipers most numerous shorebird. Have collected 7 botulism victims Marbled Godwit - Saw a few on Aug. 27 on Lower Klamath. Have seen one botulism victim of this species. Avocet - Small flocks on Lower Klamath - These birds are dying in consider able numbers of botulism. Lots of them dead. Black-necked Stilt - Only one I have seen is one which came in from Lower Klamath on Sep. 1. Northern Phalarope - Several flocks numbering around 25 birds seen on Lower Klamath on Sep. 1. Picked up 2 botulism victims. Ring-billed Gull - Gulls in numbers on the area. All dead ones I have seen from botulism have been ring-bills. Forster's Tern - Flock of around 75 on Lower Klamath on Sep. 1. Mourning Dove - seen in surrounding area. Not too many. Barn Swallow - Ravens Mergules Rock Wren - singing above headquarters. Robin - headquarters Yellow Warbler - headquarters in shade trees Sep 1. English Sparrow - headquarters. Yellow-headed Blackbird - In irrigated area near town on Aug. 27. Red-wing - singing around headquarters on August 29. Brewer's Blackbita - small flock at headquarters. Goldfinch - headquarters - flick off Sep 1. House Finch - singing at headquarters on Sep 1. Song Sparrow - headquarters from Aug. 27 to Sep. 1. Lesser Snow Goose - saw two on July on Aug. 27.
