Oregon. 315-320 p.m. Vulture Red-tailed Hawk Pheasants Killdeer Black Tern - 1 coursing over north end. Came within 40 or 50 feet of us. A full-spring-plumaged adult. Mourning Dove Horned Lark Violet-green Swallow Tree Swallow Barn Swallow - nest on shed porch, within 4 feet of previous nest sites. Cartridge box gone from wall. This nest built close under the roof in angle between west porch wall and rafter. At 7½' height. Nest lined with red and white chicken feathers. It contained 5 eggs. Adults not about.
