McFadden's Swamp Apr. 30 continued.
Virginia Rail - calling (keek) at east edge of main pond in spirea.
Sora - IF Heard the ker-eeek, ker-eeek calling which descends in pitch.
Was at west edge of main pond along Muddy Cr.
Killdeer - in mud at bend in road. No shorebirds here today at all,
that is in the mud here.
Wilson's Snipe - flushed a few here and there. One perched on a
fence post. One winnowing.
Greater Yellow-legs - About 40 left.
Western Sandpiper - three flying about the swamp.
Mourning Dove - perched in ash near barn.
Belted Kingfisher - in ash near bridge over swamp.
Violet-Green Swallow - quite a few over swamp
Tree Swallow - quite a few over swamp.
Barn Swallow - one over swamp.
Cliff Swallow - Must have been several hundred over swamp. Far more
than any others of the swallows. Around 50 would perched in
one dead ash that was only 4 feet high.
Marsh Wren - in sedge marsh northwest corner of main pond.
Robin - pair round the barn.
Cassin's Vireo - one skiing along Muddy Cr.
Yellow Warbles - " " " " "
Audubon Warbler - one called from ash at south end.
Black-throated Gray Warbler - one singing along Muddy Cr.

Pileolated Warbler - one singing from willows at north end of main
pond.

Brewer's Blackbrid - at store on highway.

Savannah Sparrow - one flew out of sed e at east edge of main pond.

Golden-crowned Sparrow - one or two in rose just south of barn.

Golden-crowned Kinglet - calling in firs.
MacGillivray Warbler - calling from brush.
