Pintails - a few along the Truckee River American Merganser - the 2nd most-abundant duck on the Truckee River Marsh Hawks - 2 Black-billed Magpies - several seen American Ravens Nevada Redwinged Blackbird March 8, 1949, Fernley-Ocala, Churchill Co., Nevada. 845-930. Mallards in Fernley Sink Pintails " Say's Phoebe on ridge Ravens - 2 pair Western Boreal Shrike Nevada Redwings March 8, 1949 - Humboldt Sink, Pershing Co., Nevada (Upper and Lower Humboldt Lakes) White Pelicans - about 12 seen in middle of upper lake. -Churchill Co. Ravens - several pairs Pipits in small flocks. Lake outlet -/5 p.m. Balapates - 2; Pintails - 2M & 4F; and a pair Cinnamon Teal. March 9, 1949 - Lovelock Irrigation District, Pershing Co., Nevada. Swainson Hawk Marsh Hawks Meadowlarks Robins Rye-Patch Reservoir, Pershing Co. 1030 a.m. Frozen over. No water in Pit-Taylor Res. Hornea Larks - 100's in area Ravens - pair Lark Sparrows - 3 or 4 seen March 10, 1949, Fallon-Stillwater area, Churchill Co., 8-9 a.m., Nevada. Marsh Hawks common Pigeon Hawk - Sparrow Hawk Valley Quail - 1 pair Ring-billed Gulls - 20-25 seen Monterey Red-shafted Flicker Black-billed Magpies common - 50-75 Western Boreal Shrikes - several 8-10 W. Meadowlarks - dozens 50-60 Nevada Redwings Brewer Blackbirds - 1000's in fields March 10, 1949, Leetville (Silver State Gun Club), W of Fallon, Churchill Co., Nevada.
