Bluebirds - young ones hovering at 10-12 feet over the ground for periods of ½ min. Cedar Waxwings - a few flew over Cassin Vireo Audubon Warbler Pacific Yellowthroat Long-tailed Chat Pileolated Warbler Meadowlark Redwings here and there - young birds well-flocked now. Brewer Blackbirds common Lazuli Bunting Purple Finch - singing House Finch - more of these and the former Willow Goldfinch Green-backed Goldfinch Towhees here and there. Savannah Sparrows seen on the flats Vesper Sparrows on the flats Chipping Sparrows Song Sparrow 57 species. Riverview School area, S of Junction City, Lane Co. 1 p.m. Blue Heron feeding in drainage ditch Lewis Woodpecker - alighting in top of old oak just ahead of heavy rain. July 24, 1947, Harrisburg, Lane Co, to Peoria, Linn Co. - 0115 to 0240 p.m. Rain Shower Vulture Bobwhite Valley Quail - F flushes first Mourning Dove. Horned Lark Vio eg-green Swallows in flocks, mostly immatures Barn Swallows Cliff Swallows W. Crow. Oregon Chickadee Bush Tits W. Bluebirds N.W. Shrike - perched on a wire fence, and making frequent feeding sallies to the ground, and back up to its first post, or another one. Meadowlarks Redwings here and there. Brewer Blackbirds - common, and in flocks now. Purple Finches here and there.
