I looked out my basement window and there in the apple tree were Purple Finches, Willow Goldfinches, Pine Siskins, a beautiful male Western Tanager, and a Black-headed Grosbeak, the latter two were first arrivals for this spring !! Chipping Sparrows White-crowned Sparrows - pairs Golden-crowned Sparrows - small flock of 14 birds in snowberry brush. Song Sparrows everywhere. - nest found in April by folks had large young that left the nest this afternoon. I banded two of them. 62 species!! LITTLE FLYCATCHER
