May 1, 1948, Fern Ridge Reservoir, 1230-1600, cool to warm, calm, and windy, clear.
White Pelicans - 1st 2 of the year
Farallow Cormorants - just a couple seen.
Blue Heron
Mallards - a few, and found nest of 1 pair on NE slope of dike, just 4' below the road atop the dike. Surrounded by tall grasses and weeds. 12-eggs. Took pic.
Lesser Scaups - 2 small rafts of them
Vultures everywhere
