Crow - 4 Brewer Blackbird - 1 Killdeer - 19 Pipits - 1 Junco - 1 and return 1455-1515 7 Ovc RW W 6-10, Cold Killdeer - 75 Flicker - 2 November 4, 1947, 12-mile Swamp, 1330-1455 10 Ovc RW- W4-7 Pied-billed Grebe Pintails - 2 M Green-wing Teal - 5 Shovellers - 5 - non full plumage males Cooper's Hawk - perched on pole Pheasant - 9 in one bunch - 2 mature Coots - 100's present everywhere. At least 400 or more over entire area. Killdeer - flew over Wilson Snipe - flushed 3 at NE side in marshy grassland Flicker - a couple Horned Lark - flying and singing Tule Wren - heard several and saw at least 10 altogether. Must be even more present. Robin - a few feeding on the ground in pasture area. Pipits - a few N.W. Shrike - saw the one bird along a fence row on the SE side of swamp again. W. Meadowlark singing Purple Finch singing Oregon Towhees in fence rows Oregon Juncos in fence rows Song Sparrows - quite a few, some in grass areas that have been flooded. November 11, 1947, Corvallis - 12-mile Swamp, 1315-1335 Brkn/250 RW- Shoveller - 8 Sharp-shinned Hawk - 1 Redtail Hawk - 2 Marsh Hawk - 1 Killdeer - 48 Flicker - 4 Raven - 2 Crow - 18 W. Bluebird - 1 Meadowlark - 1 Brewer Blackbird - 4 And return - 1520-1540 Brkn/ 200 RW- Redtail Hawk - 1 Sparrow Hawk - 3 Phasants - 11 (2F) Killdeer - 112 Flicker - 1 Audubon Warbler - 2 Goldfinch sp. - 6 November 11, 1947, 12-mile Swamp, 1335-1515, Brkn/200 RW- Pied-billed Grebe Blue Heron - o' 1 Lesser Canada Geese - 18 altogether. Mallards - about 300 altogether Baldpates - 25 or 30 seen Pintail - 10 or 15 seen. Few full males Shovellers - 15 or 20 in the area. Red-tail Hawk - 1 hovering over field, against a fairly strong wind. Sharp-shinned Hawk - 1 Sparrow Hawk Coots - at least 350 or more present everywhere. Wilson Snipe - 5 or 6 flushed, 2 pairs. Flicker - 1 Horned Lark Ravens - 3 flew over Oregon Chickadee Tule Wren W. Bluebirds - 15 seen Pipits flying over high N.W. Shrike - near cabin. W. Meadowlark singing Redwing Blackbirds - a few present, and calling. Purple Finch - 3 in top of ash tree Oregon Towhee - pairs Oregon Juncos Song Sparrows common and singing.
