Indian Ford, 4340' Elev., Deschutes Co. August 12, 1946 Turkey Vulture - 6 young circled close around me as I stood on rocky outcrop. They were very curious. Goshawk came through camp and caught a Callo. It was a young one. W. Red-tailed Hawk - on ground in a large meadow. /I could not tell if it was feeding. Mourning Doves common. Flickers White-headed Woodpecker- watering at camp, in the creek. Flycatcher sp. Stellar Jay Oregon Chickadee Pygmy Nuthatch Mountain Bluebird Western Tanager Oregon Juncos, and young August 13, 1946 - 2 p.m. DEER CANYON Turkey Vulture Rufous Hummingbird Mourning Dove. Ash-throated Flycatcher. LARGE FLOCK. August 13, 1946 - Redmond to Prineville - 3 p.m. Black-billed Magpie W. Meadowlark Brewer Blackbird Nevada Redwing August 13, 1946 , Prineville to Wildcat Camp on Mill Creek, 8 p.m. 4000' Treganza Heron, Short-eared Owl on a wireline post at twilight.
