They hit first and the wings are set, but as the feet hit, the wings are "back-watered". Saturday night there were lots of Canadas and Cacklers flying and circling over Portland and also over Camas, Washington. Saw one V of honkers down low that had 39 in it. Sunday morning there was a raft of 500 to 600 Baldpates on the East Moreland casting pool. Mostly all were adults. October 10, 1942 -- Woodburn -- Saw two Varied Thrush in the neighbors yard.
