Wilson Snipe--46, lots of them in these two areas. Killdeer--Many in a young kale patch, 22. China Pheasants--12, Western Bluebirds--9, Along fence posts near road. Brewer Blackbird--21l--Many flocks of them flew over at these two localities Bufflehead--One pair on the pond near the duck trap. White on head showed up well and when they flew there was white at base of each wing. Coot--3, On MacFadden pond Mallard--47--On both bodies of water. Oregon Junco--14 Robin--6 Green-wing Teal--4l, first I have seen, they have white bar at fore of wing that shows up well on water, they flew with rapid wingbeats in the air and lit on the water with hardly a splash. Oregon Towhee--3, Ring-necked Duck--3, One male and two females. White ring on bill showed up well in both sexes. They dove and stayed under a long time. Northwestern Flicker--5, Western Red-tailed Hawk--Single perched in poplar tree, screaming. Gairdner Woodpecker--l Eastern Sparrow Hawk--1 Song Sparrow--7 Western Meadowlark--ll, some of them were singing their spring song. Bob White--ll, two singles and one covey of 9 Savannah Sparow?????--2 Mr. Gordon isn't sure of these. Mourning Dove--4, Flew over the north marsh Pipit--17 flew overhead Redwing Blackbird--10, Tule Wren--5, These were in the briars in the north marsh. Two in one bush. Their song is lots diff. than other wrens. They were very tame. BaldPate--Flock of 2l of them took off the north marsh. Golden-crowned Sparrow--3 of them near the railroad tracks. Gave single peal note Valley Quail--12 of them in some trees near the railroad tracks. 28 species.
